School Clothing Project

This project provides school uniforms and shoes for disadvantaged children, the frail and orphans in public schools. We are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of children who go to school without a uniform, shoes or basic amenities, and we intend to reach 50 public schools across Nigeria.

The New Being Foundation, a research-based non-governmental organisation, runs the project towards Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 4: good health and wellbeing, and inclusive, quality education.

This year’s project in Sokoto State brought a sense of belonging to students who could not afford uniforms, which otherwise set them apart and make them easier to single out when insecurity strikes. Through our crowdfunding initiative we reached 50 children in three schools in Sokoto metropolis: A.A. Raji Special School, Yakubu Muhazu Junior Secondary School and Labo Dogo Daji Junior Secondary School.

Project goal: to ensure that every child appears in a good school uniform.
