School uniforms for 50 children in Sokoto
Children who go to school without a uniform or shoes stand out. It affects how they see themselves, and it makes them easier to single out when insecurity strikes.
In August 2020, the New Being Foundation ran its School Clothing Project in Sokoto metropolis. Through our crowdfunding initiative we provided school uniforms and shoes for 50 disadvantaged children, the frail and orphans in three public schools: A.A. Raji Special School, Yakubu Muhazu Junior Secondary School and Labo Dogo Daji Junior Secondary School.
The project brought a sense of belonging to students who had no means to buy uniforms. It is part of our work towards Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 4, and our goal is to reach 50 public schools across Nigeria.
